4 | Value for Learning: Finding Meaning and Purpose at School

Students who have been off-track and disengaged may be reasonably skeptical that there is any purpose or value in their classroom learning, and yet research tells us teenagers naturally seek purpose in what they do. How can educators tap into this and develop a “value mindset” in their students? In this session, participants will explore cognitive psychology research on teenagers’ perception of value and how to help students connect learning to their own values, interests, and sense of purpose.
