Our Mission
Eskolta works with educators to create a more equitable society by fostering a culture of compassion, respect, and high expectations in public schools, so students who were once left behind can thrive.
The Challenge
Every student deserves the chance to learn. Our school system has failed too many youth, especially students of color, and those living at or near poverty. Structures within public education often reflect systems of oppression in our nation as a whole, where racism, classism, xenophobia, homophobia, and sexism contribute to struggles in school. Students feel alienated and disengaged and educators feel deprived of the agency to create the climate and culture that students need to succeed.
Educators are in a unique place to provide practices, cultures, and strategies to re-engage students who have been left behind. Eskolta aims to expand access to resources grounded in research and practice, and support educators so they can share and learn from each other. Our professional development sessions deepen collaboration across school teams, so educators can explore and implement practices that make a difference for all students.
